Hockey is central to small town life in Canada, with arenas busy throughout the winter with skaters and hockey players of all ages. Young men like these are elite players in their community and known personally by hundreds . They are idolized by the town's youth and are heroes to children. It's possible that some of the Broncos came from other towns were boarding with families in Humboldt. I am so sad for all of them.

Our hearts, love and tears go out to these fine hockey players, their coaches and assistants taken in this tragedy. Our sympathy goes to their parents, families, Host Families and town people in Humboldt. We hope the people of Saskatchewan stay strong and honor these fine men from all over Western Canada. Warm thoughts and regards from sister state North Dakota.

I feel for the truck driver as well. He's the most hated man in Canada right now. One second his life and those affected by his lapse of judgement was as normal as the the day before and the next second all their lives were changed forever in a such terrible and heartbreaking way. That would be a very hard thing to live with so before you judge the truck driver, put yourself in his shoes if and try to imagine how he feels,if that's even remotely possible.

If the semi-truck struck the bus "broadside" then why is there very little damage to the the front of the truck? The grill isn't even dented! It would have sustained significant damage. Also, what happened to the side panels of the truck's trailer? They're completely gone! And what was the overall length of this semi-truck? I count a total of 32 wheels/tires. Unless there was another section this appears to be too many wheels. With regard to the bus, where is the front driver's section? It completely disappeared as well! Lastly, the debris field from the truck's payload is scattered too far. All of this is very suspicious…unless these vehicles were able to break the laws of physics. This crash scene looks to have been staged.

My personal connection isn't close. My parents neighbors on a farm near Grande Prairie Alberta are from Humboldt.

    Shocking tragedy.

Another life was claimed yesterday, resulting in the death total to be increased to 15. It's such a tragedy. My condolences to families and friends of victims injured and killed from Ottawa, Canada.

Erect flashing lights and rumble strips alerting drivers to the stop sign ahead. An entire family lost their lives at the same x-section. How many lives must be lost before SOMEONE takes action?

THIS GUY DID A TERRORIST ACT THAT COST MILLIONS IN INVESTIGATIONS / LAWYER FEES AND ABOUT 800,000.00 IN JAIL COSTS, NOT INCLUDING 16 PEOPLE KILLED AND OVER 20 INJURED!!! THAT IS WHY HE DOES NOT WANT TO SAY WHY HE IGNORED ALL THE VISIBLE SIGNS BEFORE THE ACCIDENT!!! HE MIGHT EVEN BE PAID FOR THAT ACT WHEN HE GETS OUT OF JAIL!!! CANADA NEEDS TO DO SECURE BACKGROUND CHECKS ON ALL IMMIGRANTS ONE AT A TIME AND FOLLOW UP IN CANADA!!! IMMIGRANTS MUST PAY FOR THE FEES NOT CANADA!!!
