CHAMPIONSHIP AND SETS A NEW RECORD IN THE PROCESS. I’M BRUCE RADER, THEY ARE CELEBRATING AT COX HIGH SCHOOL IN VIRGINIA BEACH AFTER THE FALCONS WON THEIR RECORD BREAKING 21ST STATE CHAMPIONSHIP THIS PAST WEEKEND. LAST YEAR COACH TAYLOR ROUNDTREE’S TEAM WON THE CLASS SIX CHAMPIONSHIP, THIS YEAR THEY WON IN THE VERY TOUGH CLASS 5. IT’S A TIME FOR CELEBRATION AT COX HIGH SCHOOL. “IT’S SUPER EXCITED TO BE SOMETHING TO US ON THE TEAM, IT MEANS SOMETHING TO ALL OF THE PLAYERS IN THE PAST. IT WAS A RUSH OF JOY AND EXCITEMENT. JUST THE ABILITY TO WIN THE CHAMPIONSHIP GAME MY SENIOR YEAR AND GET A 21ST STATE TITLE, IT WAS REALLY EXCITING. I WOULD LIKE TO SAY THERE’S NO PRESSURE INVOLVED, BUT THAT’S PROBABLY NOT TRUE. GOING FORWARD, WE JUST TAKE EVERY GAME AS IT IS, AND WE TRY NOT TO LOOK BACK TO COACHES EMILY TILLEY, NANCY FOULKS, JULIE SWAIN AND NOW COACH ROUNDTREE. A GREAT TRADITION AT COX.
