It's always an interesting experience learning about different cultures from around the world. Korea has definitely been somewhat of a change from Japan and America, which is why in this video I wanted to share my top 5 culture shocks in this country! I really like credit-cared based. I was surprised five years ago that Sweden had restaurants that were cashless. It's so much more convenient. I can't wait for The States to really be credit card based, a lot of places are slacking lol.

It's interesting that he was surprised about many Koreans being superstitious and believing in spiritual things, and ghosts and that he doesn't think this is common in America. But I think America is actually known for being very religious and believing and even consulting an invisible man.

I respectfully disagree with Chris’s comment about crazy driving, I believe it has nothing to do with being from west or east countries, it depends on the actual country and it’s laws. For example, I’m from Mexico and Mexico City driving is Super crazy, but then São Paulo Brazil with all their “moto boys” took it to another level of crazy… till Mumbai India… man! India…. so again, it depends on the country and it’s laws…

Chris, Just wait til you take a ride on the rush hour/evening “soju” trains on the subway… Line 5 in the evenings will sometimes make your heart pound. Totally agree that the buses are scary. I’ve seen them blow through red lights. Sometimes it’s even scary walking on the sidewalk with all the delivery bikes. My Korean culture shock was the spitting in the streets. All day and all night hearing people spit and seeing spit. In the more affluent areas less so, but everywhere else it was so annoying. Plus all the vomit in the party areas in the mornings before someone has come and washed it away.
Oh and with food I mostly shared with friends but if I really wanted something I’d order an extra one to go. This video had a nice flow. You and Sunny compliment each other very well!

Similar to what you mentioned about Korea being credit card based, I had really bad culture shock in China because it feels like they’ve virtually eliminated cash/credit altogether 👀 everywhere you go (and I mean EVERYWHERE) people prefer you pay using wechat/alipay, which are phone apps wherein you can transfer money to people directly from your bank account. Cashiers would literally shudder whenever I pulled out cash or a credit card to pay for things the first few weeks I was there 😭 even street performers/buskers have personal QR codes for people to scan with their phone and transfer money instead of dropping physical change in their instrument cases

yes, Indonesian driver is insanely crazy and don't think of others behind while driving especially the bus or commuter bus owned by small corporation. If they got into an accident, there's only 2 options for them. First, the driver will run straight away and abandoning their car or bus if they have a fatal accident. Second, no matter who is wrong whether they crash someone car or they are being crashed, the driver will start arguing or even fighting with other driver in the middle of the street. In Indonesia, "The rule is made or exist to be break". That's how it is if you happen or going to visit North Sumatra capital.

In Korea everything is shared unless you get Samgaytang where its your own dish.
Even when we go out for western food except maybe if it is a hamburger.
People may feel strange about it if you say you don't want to share, it is such a cultural norm its expected you will get to try many different things…
Think about it …a Korean table is always set with many side dishes.

Omg you guys I can relate 100% like omg if I go out I want my main own course and dessert!! I just kind of don't like it when I go out with friends and in ready to eat and they're like let's share. I'm going to say 'I think I want my own main course and dessert' from now on. Hopefully it's not rude but sometimes I just share to be polite.

When I first clicked on this video, I hear this man's voice and it sounded very familiar, but the blonde hair through me off. After a few more seconds it hit me. I have seen you on yt in a different channel interviewing foreigners visiting Japan. I think I watch most if not all of those series, then it changed. Videos are not those type anymore. It was more of a sit down and talk. Then I see you on this channel which I do not know anything about. Do you have a blog or video where you explained moving out of Japan?
