The next shot I’m going to show you is the
Slap Shot. This shot is definitely the most powerful and explosive shot in hockey. To
start off with, you’re going to raise your stick behind your body and using your speed,
you’re going to bend the shaft to the blade, keeping your right hand, if your righty, left
hand if you’re lefty, down to the middle of the shaft. And you’re going to slap the ice
slightly behind the puck. Once you hit the puck, you’re going to roll your wrist and
by doing that, that’s going to give the puck its amazing speed. So keep, make sure you keep your, you use
your energy, hit the ice slightly behind the puck, roll your wrist and that’s a Slap Shot.

now SIR, that is not only too close to a goalie, like others mention, but there is so much more to a slap shot than you are showing here. Your demonstration is entirely wrong, starting with body posture and ending with follow through. If you do not know your craft, please do not demonstrate it as you teach other fools WRONG things.

Jesus, he's sure taking those slappers close to the crease. Like, not trying to be an ass here or anything, but this scenario looks a bit too over embelished if you ask me.

well to get it to lift up, try opening your blade more. And if you play ice, another trick is to take a shot about 3 meters away from the boards, im not sure what it is but when you do that your slap shot improves dramatically. then you can use that form as a reference.

it takes a long time and lots of room to get a slap shot off, giving the goalie plenty of time to get ready. Its also much less accurate than a wrist shot.

@jellybean3264 I read once that Snap shots are the #1 most scoring shot in hockey, followed by #2 wrist shots, then #3 deflections, followed by #4 backhands and finally #5 slap shots. Based off of this I commented on this video. And that upset you so much that you feel that you should call people you have never met names?
