Today we are going to learn how to shoot a
puck in hockey. Shooting a puck in hockey is very important because it helps you score
a goal. There is different kinds of shots such as a wrist shot, a slap shot, a snap
shot, using your backhand. There is a lot of different ways to shoot on a goalie. Before
we start shooting though, I gotta show how to hold the stick properly. If you are a “rightie”,
like myself, you are going to put your left hand at the top of the stick like this, and
your right hand is going to go down about a third of the way down. This is your basic
stickhandling stance. But if you want to take a shot, a lot of the times you are going to
be sliding your hand down towards the middle of the shaft so that you can get more leverage
on your stick. So, today we are going to be learning to do, like I said, the wrist shot,
slap shot, snap shot, backhand, deking, a lot of different ways to shoot on the goalie.
