Holding the stick in different situations,
is very important to know, when to hold the stick a certain way, so if you’re playing
defense, and a player’s skating down, and wants to make a Cross-Ice Pass. A good way
to hold the stick, is to put one hand down like that, so you can stop an on ice pass.
Also, like I mentioned before with the Poke Check, if a player is coming down on you,
rather than having two hands, you stick the one hand out. It increases your range, to
get the puck away from the player. When you’re shooting a puck, or stick handling, you want
to have two hands,
and when you’re giving or receiving a pass, you want to have two hands, and those are different situations, of how
to hold the stick.
