My name is Alex. I’m from Missoula All-Maggots
in Missoula, Montana. Now we’re going to do the kick for touch, spiraling long kick;
trying to gain some territory in the field. This kick is really also very simple. You
want the ball, again, to point up above your dominant foot to your dominant shoulder. When
you come across the ball, striking it high off the ground (like the previous kicks we
talked about) cross the ball kicking it almost with outside of your foot, with the sole and
the middle as well. I put some cones in the distance, again; out of sideline, just a target
to think about. In this take , I’m going to show you how to slow motion kick this ball,
kicking for touch, for a long spiraling kick. This is good to use, when trying to gain touch,
trying to gain some territory in the field; penalty place. Good one to use for your line
out. In this case, the ball is going to be pointing up towards the shoulder, again. You
can kick the ball a little higher off the ground than you would for a drop kick or for
the grubber. You come across the ball with your foot, bring a spiral to it.

In the past England has played a 10 man style of rugby. That is, forwards do the hard yards and then the 1st five kicks the ball. Very boring Rugby yet It works for England and South Africa. On this USA thing Don't be arogant if They took even 10% of there NFL players and made them rugby players say from age 5-6 they would smoke us all in rugby. We had Lomu, 1 man. 6'5 280lbs 10.8s 100m. Yanks have 1000s of guys like him and even Dan Carter playing NFL. We are lucky they aint into rugby.

i wanna go play rugby in the states!! ha i think it could be great to go over there and try to expand the game that we have inbuilt in us and let other people take ahold of it and make it there own. They could come up with a great new style of playing aswell.

maybe he should have explained the rules of being inside/outside the 22, just a thought before some random tries to go and play a game and gets his kick marked all the way back

We have guys that can stay on the field for more than 2 minutes without having a break, the yanks have, oh wait, they don't have anyone like that. You have obviously never played rugby or you would know that there is nothing taxing in NFL, they would be breathing hard after the first ruck/maul/scrum. They wouldn't last 80 minutes

@pingpong90210 Your right, however with the new breakdown rules in place, this 10 man style of play becomes shyte, as it is easier to counteratack, and more exiting and fitter teams like new zealand and australia, possibly even france, will dominate, and the others will have to adapt

Fairly obscure reference as the last time rugby union was played at the olympics was 1924. Not taking away from the teams back then but it doesn't really factor into the debate they had goin on

From the sounds of the teaching points, you don't know if you're teaching a punt of a box kick. Make your mind up…

The ONLY reason America is not good at rugby is that our best athletes play other sports, mostly American football. If out American football players played rugby we would easily destroy most teams, possibly even win a World Cup, or 2.

you could but no country has as many gifted athletes as the states. you could say this about a country like mexico who is mostly a soccer playing country but thier soccer players dont have the size or skill to play a contact sport like rugby.
