My name is Alex. I am from Missoula All-Maggots
in Missoula, Montana and now we’re going to learn how to do a simple drop kick. The
drop kick in the scoring time in the game brings you the points. So then what this is:
the ball touches the ground, as soon as it does, you want to make sure you strike it
and put it thru the upright. With the ball, when you drop it, point back up towards your
shoulder with the dominant foot. That way the ball is going to bounce a little bit towards
you, not away from your foot, really simple. I will show you one here. Now I am going to
show you slowly how to kick a drop kick. Again, when you drop the ball, point the ball up
over your dominant shoulder; over your dominant foot. I am going to drop hit the ground simply
like this and come back towards your foot a little bit. You are kicking the ball with
this part of your foot here. Much like you would as a good striker with a soccer ball.
I will show you that right here.

i wish the camera actually showed the result of the kick – i bet it flew really horribly!

i kick drop goals with the laces bit of my foot
you can get a lot more height and power with that area so you can drop goal from much further out

that's how i do it, anyway

im not the best kicker in the world but whenever ive done it like that the ball flies almost straight up. which doesnt really help me if im in a crowded area of the field. so i do use that part. but then again if i was just trying to gain distance i would just punt it

@smoku46 Side passes (laterals) are rarely used because of the risk of fumble. A forward pass if missed means the team keeps posession. The field is narrower. Drop kicks are in the rulebook, but have to occur behind the LOS (you can't run downfield and kick a drop goal), so you might as well place kick. Rugby uses continuous play. You see a little more drop kicking in the CFL, because the kicked ball is live. NFL other team has to touch it first except on kickoffs.

I'm amazed at the jealousy of non-Americans online. Just because you aren't American, but probably desperately want to be, doesn't mean you've gotta hate. Either way, sure this guy probably isn't world class, but all he's doing is giving a tutorial on a certain skill of a sport I'm sure he loves, and nothing but negativity from you non-American fags. I'm sure all of you critics are much better than him and I, and kick 50m dropkicks daily. Overly protective about the only thing you've got maybe?

@ukftw193Yes, you "pwned" yourself. "a much cheaper form of healthcare than insurance with a private healthcare", you get what you pay for. I know of zero cases of Americans having to travel to the U.K. for a specific treatment. I'm not even defending the American health care system, it's broken. In fact, you're the dummy who, in an almost randomly-autistic manner, brought it up for no relevant reason other than the lack of a legitimate rebuttal to English peoples baseless American bashing.

@avanpeltno2fan look, i know your american and therefore no shit all about anything other than america so ill make it simple.
the NHS is universal so even if you cant pay taxes its free, or if you pay less you still get the same level of treatment as someone who pays a lot more. As it is included in tax it can be called "free"
and im not english im welsh… its like me calling all north americans yanks.

Wow, exactly as I thought. The root of that type of judgment could probably be found somewhere in bitterness, but I'll reply anyway, and keep it short.
Your definition of "free" is perverted. Free is walking through the forest, picking an apple off of a tree and eating it. "not-free" is a charitable organization giving away apples. Get it?

Also, I'm sorry for calling you English, but to be fair, anytime you refer to an American as a yank you should make sure they are from the Northeast of the U.S. or you may expect somebody to say, "and im not a yank im a rebel… its like me calling all brits english."
Nevermind, an American man would seldom act so pretentiously effeminate (not to say some American men don't behave effeminately)

Yes, and many comments on this video have given a great example as to why so many Americans do not care anymore of what others think. A) Senseless American Bashing B) Boy-who-cried-wolf-syndrome, when you intricately dissect every move, error or otherwise that someone makes, it tends to weaken any meaningful criticism C) Plus, your quote of me replying to some British idiot, and knowingly taking it out of context, but trying to make a relevant point with it anyway has become common.

Yup we are jealous of American Rugby, granted, this guy is passionate about the game, but classifying this channel/gentleman as an expert is so far from the truth. The whole world wants to live in America, considering that America invades most countries under the banner of the terrorist threat, not oil reclamation? That is farcical to say the least, there is a greater out there, not just the USA.

the only reason a lot of Americans are overweight is because of how obtainable food is in our country, food is such a surplus in such a rich country . It'd be a shame if America was full of malnourished people. I'm pretty sure if other countries were so accustomed to food and video games , etc. ( Great Britain, I'm not singling you out , I'm aware video games , food and such is within reach as well, along with other European counties ). Do not take offense im stating my opinion.
