My name is Alex. This is Andy. We’re from
Missoula All-Maggots in Missoula, Montana, and the web site is www.maggots.org. Now,
we’re going to learn to do a simple ball passing; the right and left hand. One of the
players is going to pass to the other, dominant hand. Really simple to learn how to do this.
We’ll use one hand first. Stand about 5 or 6 feet apart. Roll it off one hand, back
with one hand. Switch hands; trying to get the same simple goal. It’s really easy stuff.
One hand, when you’re passing, is supposed to be a guide. The other hand does all the
work. It should really be only one hand pass, you can practice it. In the game, all passes
are with two hands. Next step, from that, to manage the ball, for one use the guide,
use one hand for the spiral. Switch hands, as simple as that. Now we’re going to look
closely at the one hand spin pass. Just for practicing purposes, learn how to spin pass
with both hands. One hand here, holding like this, kind of the back half of the ball. Rolling
it, it comes back. Then switch hands, same just as in the other hand, and you roll it
and that is it. Simple as that.

Im an Irish-canadian and live in north america as well. all you lads with chips on your shoulders for american rugby need to lay off, if the sport spreads and people like it, thats a good thing. American rugby (and Canadian-Quarter Finals in '91 WC) is progressing well and people seem to really identify with it. Leave your vendettas against americans out of your arguements ya knobs.

dark, from what i was taught…you start with pop passing; where you have the ball aroudn ur waist and u simply pop it up.
another one (non-spin) is also a kind of pop pass where u hold the ball up then with teh same grip point the top down and u sorta pop it…its hard to explain….just try popping…then spin just comes, not too ahrd.

Thanks for the tips – been playing for a very long time but got away without having to spin pass on the non-dominant side. This will help change that.

@Ben49 I'm sorry but these videos by expert village are absolutely criminal, they are detrimental to anybody learning to play rugby. If u follow their advice u will pick up bad habits that may be hard to eliminate later on when u find better training tips.
Type in R80rugby into youtube, I promise, u they are pros and they teach perfect technique, u can't go wrong. Hope this helps 🙂

@Ben49 simply because they don't manage rugby as well, therefore they don't have anything to teach..i'm agree with u about offensive comments, but people can say what it wants..free opinions in a free world..
