So I just stepped in the front door
after getting back from Japan, and look what was here waiting for me. This is two
weeks worth of mail and probably the most I’ve ever had at one time. Normally,
I’d make unboxings over on my Instagram stories, but, I know I’ve got heaps of 360
and VR gadgets in these boxes. Because I know there’s going to be some stuff that you guys go ‘ooooh’, ‘aaaaah’ over. So, let’s get into it. Package number one. I’m excited. This is something I discovered when I
was in Japan. Someone at the conference was using this really, really long selfie
stick. It was like ridiculously long. And I went straight on to Amazon and bought
myself one. And the brand is called Telesin. Check out this selfie stick.
It’s carbon fiber, and it extends to about 3 meters long.
Oh wow, I’m so excited right now. Oh my God. I can’t even fit this in this shot. I don’t even know how to show you guys.
Because it’s so big and it won’t fit in my shot. Okay, let’s try. Keep going, keep
going, keep going, Keep, no, no. This ain’t gonna work. I’ll
have to go outside and show you. And the cool thing is, it folds down to
something this portable. I’m so excited by this gadget. I posted a tiny planet in
Japan that I shot with this thing. I got up so high with my GoPro fusion. I know
this is gonna be awesome for traveling and getting super high-up perspectives
without needing a drone. Parcel 2. Okay. Cool. All right. Any guesses what
this might be? Who’s that? Recognize that face? That’s me. So this is called Snapspheres and it’s a sphere of a 360 photo. All the pieces have been jumbled
up. But when I assemble these properly, it’s going to turn into a full sphere of
one of my 360 photos that I shot on Mi sphere. So this could potentially prove..
Oh, cool.. It’s magnetic, so they just stick together instantly. So, awesome. So this
could prove to be a good way of printing out 360 photos. Maybe. it’s not that
affordable yet. I’ll be sure to make a video about it soon and let you guys
know my thoughts. It’s the ‘Life in 360’ 360 beanie. How cool am I gonna look now? It’s the new 360 hat. Here is the black one, and blue. There we
go, looking cool. Now this one I’ve really been looking forward to. So this,
right here, is a backpack from GoPro. It’s called the Seeker, and it was built to
hold cameras. But at the very top of it, you have a pouch where you can put five
different cameras. That’s gonna be so handy when I’m walking around with my 12
cameras. Storage for cables and memory cards and stuff like that. There’s also
camera mounts all over this bag. You can put a camera there, you can put a camera
there, you can put a camera on the side. It comes with a chest mount that acts kind
of like a webbing between the two straps so you can fix a camera right on your
chest there, and it see forward. I think it’ll be handy for shooting hyperlapses
hands-free and just mounting 360 cameras to your body. it also has some
mounts here on the side so you can fix selfie stick to it, totally extend it, and
have a really high-up perspective as you’re walking. I’ve really been looking
forward to getting this bag so I’m a very happy boy.
Nice and light, and well-built, but it’s going to have my back. Pun intended. This is the oculus Go. And this is the headset everyone in the 360 and VR
communities have been talking about as the next amazing headset. It’s got a
really high resolution screen inside and you can connect to thousands of apps and
games and view back your 360 footage in high resolution. I’m still not a massive
fan of headsets and I much prefer viewing my content on mobile or computer.
But from what my friends have told me, this really is going to bridge the gap
between headsets and viewing on mobile a little bit. And headsets haven’t really
become a thing because of the price. It’s almost as expensive as buying a camera.
And that’s just too much. Most people want to be able to view in seconds and
not have to pay to do it. Which is why viewing technology needs to be
affordable and awesome. So, I will let you guys know my thoughts on oculus Go as
soon as I get a spare second. Next, I have some gear from Think Tank, who you guys
know is my favorite brand for camera storage. I thought this would be perfect
for a 360 camera and it’s basic accessories. So, it’s a small little pouch
with a few zippers where you could put a camera in this pouch, and all of its
accessories in this pouch. And that folds up to be really small. Think Tank know
how to design camera storage so, looking forward to testing this thing out. So, I
have a laptop case. Just got myself a new MacBook Pro and I need something.. Oh ****, I
think I just scratched it.. and I need a quality laptop bag to store it. This
thing has a whole bunch of pockets so you can include the charger and other
accessories. So, looking forward to using that. This has been Ben’s unboxing. So I
put links to everything down in the description if you liked any of this
stuff. Now I’ve got to go edit some videos. I’ll see you in the next video. BAM!

Last time I had so much unboxing to do was after Ikea's delivery… no gadgets in that delivery 😅

By the way, does the Telesin extend into any wanted length or are you bound to the 56cm, 120cm and 270cm (I read that somewhere)?

That Telesin selfie stick is totally legit. I've had many happy moments with it. And now I also use it for my bullet time shots, on Insta360 ONE, MiSphere and Fusion. As for the Oculus Go – my wife and I filmed ourselves kayaking and put the footage in my Oculus Go, pretty impressive, it's like you're there with us! Also great for viewing Netflix, 2D and 3D movies, you'll never want to go to the theatre after using this. The only thing better than the Oculus Go for viewing (360 or HD/4K) video is the Samsung Odyssey. Enjoy Ben.

I like the look of the bag, except for the great big GoPro logo. When travelling it might as well say "Steal me" on it, because thieves know what they're worth.

Hi Ben. Great review, thank you. I ordered one from Amazon UK and now I'm totally confused.
The tripod thread on the stick is too small for the Mi Sphere.
I have some 1/4 to 3/8 adapters, and the stick seems to screw fine into these adapters, which tells me the stick is a standard 1/4 thread.
But the 3/8 is too big for the Mi sphere.
Yet the Mi Sphere thread works fine in other tripods and the selfie stick from Xiaomi.
What am I doing wrong? 🙂

Carbon fibre (conductive)…. long pole…. power lines!!! As an electrician I should mention to everyone to take care nearby power lines with such a long and conductive pole. (sorry to put a negative spin on a fun thing). Especially high voltage lines (the ones with the larger insulators to the power poles). You don't have to touch them, you only need to get close by before you can be zapped to death. Just a thought when I saw you out on the street with it Ben. Take care and have fun people.

Hi Ben 🙂 I bought the pole but i discovered the attach on top is smaller than the female into the Mi-Sphere camera that should be a standard size :-O I don't think there is an adapter so small to make the camera fit with the pole attach. Which experience do you have? Temporary i put some rubber tape on the pole top to make it bigger and fit on the Mi-spere attach…Thank you, Marco

Does this selfie stick work with the insta 360 one x? Cause the end of the stick is a go pro type end, correct? As well as if I use the attachment and screw on to convert the go pro end into a 1/4” screw, does the screw attachment show in the videos?

Do you think the Telesin selfie stick is adaptable, narrow enough head to use with a One X? Does it bow too much when extended. Lot less expensive than the One X extended stick.

Hi Ben, I tried the Telesin Selfie stick and tested it in the city after testing it out from a driving car and now the screw thread is broken. I mean not really broken optically but it won't hold the Mijia 360 anymore. Is yours still intact?

    Hi Ben,
Quick ques.. have you ever seen the 'Official' Insta360 Extended Selfie Stick in the flesh vs the Telesin one? If so is there much of a quality difference? I've read the Telesin one has issues with the build quality of the top falling off or the aluminium thread stripping?

They both look pretty similar from the pics I've seen.
