Hey girl, it’s Andrew Huang! (Clap) I got a video today from my good friend Rob Scallon who found this instrument called a Berimbau Definitely not how you pronounce that. Rob! Tell us about the Berimbau. Stick, with a string on it (hits string) and this gourd to amplify it. Part of the instrument is this rock (fumbles with rock) Aah! It also comes with a shaker. (Shaking) (Shaking Intensifies) So, that’s, what it is. Rob used it in a metal song on his channel and he challenged me to use the sounds he recorded in a dubstep track. So that’s what we’re gonna try to do today. The first step is to sort through this video of sounds he sent me and pick out the best “Wubz” (dank Berimbau wubz) This instrument really sounds super cool. (More dank Berimbau wubz) Alright, so now I’m going to arrange these to sound like a drop. I feel like this one that has this big pitch sweep is the one we wanna kick off with. (dank Berimbau wub with big pitch sweep) Let’s use this wobbly one now (dank wobbly Berimnau wubz) (imitates Berimbau wubz) So a lot of these sounds are what you would call.. Almost exactly the same in every way. That’s okay, ’cause we can use them in different ways. Some of them have pitch shifted a bit and some of them have chopped in to much smaller pieces. Here’s where I’m at so far. (Berimbau dubstep) There is one sound here That sounds like its been reversed But that’s just how the instrument sounds I’m gonna work that in Alright I made a little loop now out of some of the other sounds in the video The shaker was an easy one, I used it as a shaker (Shaker noise) And then Rob also hit the gourd a bunch of times Which sounds like he did drugs Yo lets me hit that gourd and I thought that could be cool as a little bit of background percussion (Background Percussion) So let’s just add a basic riser and a royalty free stock drum loop and see how hard this drops (music) (Rob making sounds from his mouth) (Gourd dubstep) Wub wub wub (Gourd dubstep) Okay I know for some people that dubstep is like so 2013 But I still love it and if your into it, I do have a full album of it that you can get. It’s called Droop (Preview of the album) You can check it out, wherever you do your music Thanks for watching I post every Monday and Thursday so please subscribe and also check out Rob’s video and subscribe to that guy if you haven’t already because (thinks of reason to subscribe) (Rob noise)

How about some saturation on the wubs? Just saying. And some more compression. And a sub bass to clean it up? And a better riser…..? Maybe that’s just me. It sounds great for just 20 minutes of editing tho 👌🏽
