I’m working on a Native American themed walking
stick, this time. I haven’t carved very many faces. So instead of going to the drawing board,
I decided to do some sculpting, to get an understanding of the shape that I want. That aught to give me a rough idea of what I’m after. I enjoy prowling around out in the high desert
country. There’s a story written in the ground of a
people who lived here a long time ago. There’s evidence of their life all around
the area if you know what to look for. I like little horn toads that run around out
here in the sand. They’ve got to be about the cutest little
lizards in the world! I came across several pieces of spear points
and arrowheads that some young man probably hunted with a thousand years ago. Back up in the higher country, we came across
a small herd of wild timber horses. These horses are direct descendants of the
ones that were ridden centuries ago by the first people of this land. Pearl wasn’t really that interested in the
deer antler that I found. She had more important things on her mind. She seems to have her own agenda when we’re
out and about. Back on the carving again; I’m putting a lot
of decorations on this young warrior. I must say it’s been a challenge to try and
decide just how I’m going to do it all. Thanks for watching! I’ll see you on the next one!

A magnificent piece of art — far too good to call a stick.  Incorporating a dream catcher was not only a nice touch, but a thoughtful and appropriate one.  Enjoyed the stroll in the countryside with you and Pearl, along with the discoveries you made there.  Well done, Mike!
