– So in sledge hockey, carrying
the puck is a difficult skill for a lot players to learn. But mainly focusing on how
to push a puck the proper distance in
front of you and working on your stride
is gonna improve your ability to start accelerating with the
puck and your confidence handling it as well. So a couple things to think
about, one, is just, like I said, pushing the puck
in front of you, getting your hand to the top
and then do a full stride. You’ll let your hand slide down,
just keep moving it. Just keep pushing it in front
of you at a proper distance. But then once you actually learn
how to do that, then you can focus on moving
it a lot quicker with a lot more hand speed as well. So as I move here, I think, my
natural reaction is gonna take over and
I’ll just describe it. So, push the puck forward. Carry it back. And now I’m just keeping my
right hand down the stick the whole time, using my
left hand for speed. And you’ll notice I used
my right stick, I dug it into the ice, that
helps me slide down and stay over on my blades. If I wanna keep handling the
puck on this side. So now we’ll switch. Practice both hands always. Just keep moving the puck up,
full stride, get your hands down. Or, like I said, if I wanted to do it
at a faster pace, as you progress, working
on the hand movement, push the puck up. My left hand is staying
down my stick. My right hand is extending
far in front of me. And I’m always just gonna
push the puck a little bit ahead. And this way, I maintain
more control. I dug my left stick in,
got onto my right edge. Sorry, got onto my left edge. My right stick is out, and this
is always gonna position you ready to make a pass
or a shot. So focus on getting the puck
in the right distance in front of you and then,
as you progress, work on you hand movements and improving your stick
handling as you go. Hey everyone, thanks

This helped me a lot, thanks a bunch. When will you upload a video on wrist shots and lifting the puck?

I have been taught to sometimes use my hand to push the puck ahead on the return stroke to stick handle… could some refs see that as a "hand pass"?
