Namaskar! Welcome to Nishamadhulika.com. Today we will prepare soup stick. Soup stick is readily available in market but it can be prepared at home easily. So let’s start preparing soup stick. For soup stick take Plain flour – 1 cup. Olive oil – 1 tbsp. Salt – 1/4 tsp or salt to taste. Sugar – 1/2 tsp. Instant dry active yeast – 1/2 tsp. For soup stick we will prepare the dough. Take plain flour in a bowl and add sugar, salt, instant dry active yeast. The yeast doesn’t need to be activated. Add 2 tsp of oil and keep aside a little bit for further use. Mix all the ingredients. To the flour add lukewarm water in small quantities and prepare soft dough. Soft dough is ready. Grease your palms with oil and knead the dough until it becomes soft. Knead the dough for 4-5 mins until soft. Soft dough is ready. On touching, the grains of sugar or yeast may not be felt now. The dough is smooth, elastic, and bounces back when pressed. The dough is finally ready. We have used 1/3 cup of water for dough preparation. Grease the dough with oil and keep aside for 2 hours to rest And rise until it doubles in size, then we will prepare the soup stick. After 2 hours the dough is double in size. Apply dry plain flour on palm and punch the dough. Roll them into balls. Now flatten them. Sprinkle some flour on the board and roll it into thickness of 1/2 cm. Roll it in rectangular shape. Rectangular shaped dough is finally ready. Slice it from the edges to make it perfectly rectangular. Now slice the dough into 1/2 inch thick strips. Take a strip and twist it. Keep it on a butter paper sheet. Prepare the strips likewise with the remaining dough. Preheat the oven in convection mode at a temperature of 180 degree centigrade. Now we will bake the soup stick. Place the tray in the oven and set it at 180 degree centigrade for 10 mins. And then we will check it. Take out the tray and check the soup stick. The soup stick have turned brown and now we will turn them. We had baked the stick for 16 mins at 180 degree centigrade. Now we will bake them for 5-6 mins after flipping them. We have turned all the soup stick and now bake it. Take the soup stick from the oven. Crispy golden brown soup stick is ready now. It took 3o mins to bake the soup stick at 180 degree centigrade We baked the soupstick for 10 mins and then we checked it but it was white. We baked it for 6 mins and flipped it and baked for 10 mins again Again the soup stick were not crunchy so we baked it again for 5 mins. So it took around 30 mins to prepare the crunchy soup stick For different ovens the baking time will vary. Bake the soup stick for 15-16 mins and then turn them to bake again for 5 mins. Bake them until golden brown. Crispy golden brown soup stick is ready now. They are also called as bread stick. Serve them with soup. Keep the soup stick inside a container after they cool off.
