– Yep, back in 2006 when
they made a run for the cup, that’s where it all started. I grew out the beard, I didn’t shave for the entire playoffs, and yeah, I really do think it had an impact on the game that season. Been getting more ambitious with my pregame rituals ever since. My name is Andy, and I think I’m probably the
biggest hockey fan in Edmonton. (upbeat string music) All the greats have a solid, consistent early morning routine. The same goes for me. I like to start my day off with a bit of pregame dangles down
in the river valley with the fellow early morning joggers. Then, round 7:30 AM or so, I
move on to bucket drumming. Really help wake up my senses and get the energy flowing in the neighborhood. – [Neighbor] Shut up! Stop it! – After that, my favorite thing to do is to fry up a few sausages, some orange and blue scrambled eggs, and watch some highlight reels from when the dream team was tearing up the ice. Yes! Helps me visualize the
players nailing it tonight. So I can get that
positive energy out there, get the team feeling it
before the game tonight. That’s a good goal. A few years ago I had to
put the makeup on at one PM, so I could make a super fan meetup. Let’s just say they had a
pretty great game that time so been putting it on
at one PM ever since. Oil-based, of course. I have a shrine that I like to meditate on a bit before each game with candlelit pictures
of all my favorites. You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take. You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take. Then I like to clear out the room of negative energy by
burning McDavid’s hair, before moving into the stick
performance and vocal warmups. Ya-hoo! Ya-hoo! After that, it’s time to
prepare the space for the game. I honestly think that if
I don’t do these rituals the team doesn’t win. So, in a way, it’s kinda like
I’m a member of the team. I mean, I don’t know what
cosmic forces are at work, but whatever I’m doing
seems to be working. So I’m gonna keep at it. – [Game Announcer] Khaira on
Nilsson, dekes and scores. There’s a great way to start a hockey game.
(clapping) – Oh yeah! (cheers) Yeah! Hard pass, hard pass. Aww! – [Game Announcer]
Puljujärvi passes it deep. (cheering)
(clapping) – [Game Announcer] For the
first time in this hockey game. Circles back behind the net. – Yeah, get it! Get out of the zone. – [Game Announcer] Lucic with a big hit! – Yeah! (cheers) – [Game Announcer] A huge goal. – No! – [Game Announcer] It’s looking like we’re going into overtime tonight. – Yeah, come on! Come on, come on, come on! (groaning) – [Game Announcer] Vancouver taking an important four-three overtime
win tonight in Edmonton. They’ll be headed back
home with two big points. – Well, it was a hell of a game. I’m sure we’ll get it next time. There’s just no ritual you can
do for stupid refs, you know? Beer?
